Haida Gwaii Accessibility Committee
The North Coast Regional District (NCRD) has established the Haida Gwaii Accessibility Committee (HGAC) to understand barriers to accessibility and advise on how to remove and prevent barriers through the development of an accessibility plan. This Committee has been meeting since September 2023; please see meeting minutes here.
The NCRD is calling for nominations for one (1) more member to be appointed to the HGAC for a two (2) year term. As per the Accessible BC Act, this member must be an Indigenous person.
Individuals interested in being considered for nomination are asked to submit a written expression of interest, including a description of skills and life experiences that would make you an appropriate committee member, by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, December 4, 2023, to:

Haida Gwaii Regional Recreation Commission
The Haida Gwaii Regional Recreation Commission is looking for four (4) more members to be appointed to the Commission for two (2) year terms! Commitment is meeting attendance at least 2x/year over Zoom.
Individuals interested in being considered for nominations are asked to submit a written expression of interest, including a description of skills and life experiences relevant to local rec and leisure that would make you an appropriate committee member, by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, December 4, 2023 to Alissa MacMullin, Recreation Coordinator, coordinator@hgrec.com
Moresby Island Advisory Planning Commission
The North Coast Regional District (NCRD) is currently seeking up to five members to join the Moresby Island Advisory Planning Commission (MIAPC).
The MIAPC advises the Board of the NCRD on matters referred to it by the Board or their Director, respecting land use, the preparation and adoption of a community plan, or a rural land use bylaw or proposed bylaw or permit that may be enacted or issued under Part 26 of the Local Government Act.
Interested candidates are encouraged to submit a statement of interest, including relevant background information, to the Corporate Officer at corporateofficer@ncrdbc.com

Graham Island Advisory Planning Commission
The North Coast Regional District (NCRD) is currently seeking up to five members to join the Graham Island Advisory Planning Commission (GIAPC).
The GIAPC advises the Board of the NCRD on matters referred to it by the Board or their Director, respecting land use, the preparation and adoption of a community plan, or a rural land use bylaw or proposed bylaw or permit that may be enacted or issued under Part 26 of the Local Government Act.
Interested candidates are encouraged to submit a statement of interest, including relevant background information, to the Corporate Officer at corporateofficer@ncrdbc.com

Moresby Island Management Standing Committee
The NCRD is currently seeking four members to join the Moresby Island Management Standing Committee (MIMSC).
The MIMSC is empowered to exercise Advisory Powers with respect to the following services in Electoral Area E:
- a) Grant in Aid
- b) Economic Development
- c) Emergency Planning
- d) Sandspit Fire Protection Budget
- e) Islands Solid Waste
- f) Haida Gwaii Recreation
- g) Other matters are referred to the Committee by the Board from time to time;
Subject to the provisions otherwise contained in Bylaw No. 579 and Part 24 of the Local Government Act, the Committee is empowered to exercise Management Powers with respect to the Sandspit Water System.
