Board of Variance
The Board of Variance is an appeal body, made up of three members appointed by the Board. The Board of Variance hears and decides on variances to the North Coast Regional District's (NCRD) zoning bylaws. The Board of Variance provides citizens with an avenue for appeal on the interpretation and the strict application of certain local government provisions and regulations in specific circumstances defined in the legislation. The Board of Variance functions independently from the NCRD Board and has its own authority under the Local Government Act.
The Board of Variance meets as required, upon receipt of a formal application through the Secretary (the CAO) to the Board of Variance. Please contact the NCRD for more information regarding the application process.
For an overview of the application process please refer to the Board of Variance Application Guide.
Note: The NCRD is currently seeking volunteers to sit on the Board of Variance for Moresby Island and Graham Island. If you are interested in the opportunity, please e-mail info@ncrdbc.ca for more information.
