Member Recruitment for Sandspit Committees and Commission

Sandspit community members! 

Are you interested in volunteering in your community? The North Coast Regional District is recruiting new members for the following Sandspit Committees and Commission below: 

 

Sandspit Emergency Planning Advisory Committee
The Sandspit Emergency Planning Advisory Committee provides community-based advice to the NCRD on emergency preparedness and public safety matters for Electoral Area E. Its role is to review local emergency planning issues and make recommendations that strengthen community readiness and resilience. The Committee meets quarterly to discuss risks, needs, and priorities, helping ensure local perspectives guide the NCRD’s emergency planning initiatives. Find out more here!

Moresby Island Advisory Planning Commission
The Moresby Island Advisory Planning Commission assists the NCRD by reviewing land-use applications, bylaws, and planning matters referred to it by the Board or Electoral Area Director. The Commission provides local insight and balanced recommendations that help inform decisions affecting community development and land use in Electoral Area E. Meetings are public, and the Commission serves as an important forum for community input on planning issues. Find out more here!

Sandspit Community Hall Standing Committee
The Sandspit Community Hall Standing Committee supports the NCRD by overseeing the operations, maintenance, and management of the Sandspit Community Hall. The Committee provides guidance on facility needs, budget planning, and day-to-day operational considerations, ensuring the hall remains a vibrant and well-used community asset. Members work collaboratively with NCRD staff and contribute to maintaining a welcoming, functional space for local events and activities. Find out more here!
