Notice of Procedure Bylaw Amendment
Notice of intent to amend the North Coast Regional District Procedure Bylaw No. 591, 2016 and the consideration of Public Notice Bylaw No. 712, 2026
The North Coast Regional District (Regional District) is intending to amend its procedure Bylaw No. 519, 2016 by redefining under Part 2 – Definitions, under section (j) – Public Notice Posting Place by removing “and the Regional District website” through the amending Bylaw No. 519.2, 2026.
The purpose of this amendment is to allow for the use of the Regional District website to able to support public notice requirements under the Regional District’s Public Notice Bylaw No. 712, 2026.
In general terms, the Regional District is intending to identify its methods of public notice that have been recommended by the public through the feedback received on preferred methods of notice. This improves both the timeliness and effectiveness of Regional District notices.
Public notice Bylaws are required to consider the three (3) following principles:
- Reliable – the publication methods are dependable and trustworthy;
- Suitable – the publication methods work for the purpose for which the public notice is intended; and,
- Accessible – the publication methods are easy to access and have broad reach.
