Notice of Public Hearing Bylaw No. 708 and No. 709

Notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at 7:00 P.M. via Zoom to receive representation from all persons who deem their interests to be affected by the following proposed bylaw amendments:

 

Bylaw No. 708, 2026 being a bylaw to amend the Sandspit-Moresby Official Community Plan Bylaw 236, 1993 and Bylaw No. 709, 2026 being a bylaw to amend the Rural Graham Island Official Community Plan Bylaw 532, 2011. 

 

In general terms, the purpose of the proposed bylaw amendments is to enable short-term and incubatory uses under Temporary Use Permit guidelines throughout Electoral Area D (rural Graham Island) and E (Sandspit-Moresby Island), to reduce the application fees associated with development applications, and to streamline application approval procedures associated with Temporary Use Permits. The process for development approval procedures is intended to be amended through Bylaw No. 549.1, 2026 a bylaw to amend the North Coast Regional District Development Approval Procedures and Fees Bylaw No. 549, 2013.

 

A copy of the proposed bylaws as well as the amending Bylaw No. 549.1 Development Approval Procedures and Fees Bylaw, and virtual meeting details may be inspected at the offices of the North Coast Regional District, 205 - 815 1st Avenue West, Prince Rupert, BC between the hours of 8:30 A.M. and 4:30 P.M., Monday to Friday, except statutory holidays, as well as the Regional District website at www.ncrdbc.com.
